Reflections

Hello all. Though it's only been a couple of hours since our last post, we have had an evening full of processing and group time. We heard that the daughter of Danny Kaplan (a professor at Macalester) passed away while on a trip with her friends in South America. We spent many moments thinking of Professor Kaplan and his family. Furthermore, we were struck by our roles as children and as parents on this wonderful adventure. We are thinking of all of our family in this tough time, and we're all drawing closer together to support each other in this moment. We are going to continue to think of Professor Kaplan and wish we were at home to hug our parents / children, as well as all those we love. But, we realized how this is also an important moment to continue moving forward, realizing the blessings we have and continuing to live fully in the moment of our adventures in Uganda. Along that vein, below are some pictures from yesterday, Sunday. Our pictures and reflections from our experiences at the lab and hospital today will hopefully be posted sometime tomorrow.

Much love,
PIGH
